Singtel and Tencent Games have on last Thursday announced the launch of Honor of Kings ∙ Cloud (HoK ∙ Cloud) using Singtel’s 5G network slicing technology.

Singtel said in a statement that this world-first deployment employs Singtel’s advanced 5G network to deliver dedicated, low-latency capabilities to enable smoother, more competitive game play for players at home or on the move.

With this technology, players will no longer have to deal with heavy downloads or high-end hardware, as all intense processing and rendering takes place in the cloud, making it easier for players to game on any mobile device.

Singtel’s network slicing capability also boosts real-time processing across internet of things (IoT) devices and supports generative artificial intelligence (AI) for smart glasses.

“With the world’s first nationwide 5G network slice deployed for HoK ∙ Cloud, we’re delivering ultra-low latency that gamers need to compete seamlessly, anytime and anywhere,” said Keith Leong, Managing Director, Enterprise, Singtel Singapore.

“While the cloud version of the game has already seen success in some markets, no one else has applied network slicing at this scale — and that truly takes the gaming experience to another level,

“This milestone underscores the strength of Singtel’s 5G+ network, not just for gaming but for the next wave of real-time cloud applications, positioning Singapore at the forefront of digital innovation,” he added.

It is noted that the popular mobile multiplayer online battle arena game HoK has already amassed a massive player base.

Building on this success, HoK ∙ Cloud, powered by Tencent Cloud Gaming technology, will begin its testing phase of network slicing in October 2025.

“The partnership between Tencent Cloud Gaming and Singtel represents a deep integration of 5G networks with cloud gaming, which can significantly enhance the real-time interactive experience for cloud gamers,” said Sammy Chen, Vice General Manager of Cloud Gaming at Tencent Games.

Building on this milestone in cloud gaming, Singtel is also launching TxStore in Singapore.

Starting with Android users, the new store will offer 30 most popular games, including global hits such as PUBG MOBILE.

HoK ∙ Cloud is scheduled for release on the TxStore in November 2025, with expansions in the future to the Google Play Store and more.

The statement also highlighted that the global cloud gaming market is projected to grow from $5.32 billion in 2025 to $39.57 billion by 2030, led by the Asia-Pacific region, driven by the rollout of 5G networks and increasing adoption of smartphones for gaming.

With Singtel’s 5G+ network slicing, gamers will enjoy an enhanced experience through app-based Slice through user equipment route selection policy, with all traffic related to the cloud gaming app on a user’s device is automatically routed through a prioritized network lane, ensuring smoother connectivity.

They will also enjoy 5G advanced latency priority scheduling. Deployed in collaboration with Ericsson, this technology identifies and prioritizes time-critical game data, such as player commands and in-game animations, reducing delays in real-time gameplay.
