Google Cloud and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have on Monday announced the launch of the artificial intelligence (AI) Innovation Center for Indonesia, a joint initiative to address key challenges in Indonesia’s AI adoption and empower enterprises to innovate at scale.

The duo said in a statement that the AI Innovation Center aims to help public and private sector organizations reimagine processes, enhance productivity, deliver novel customer experiences, and generate new business opportunities with the power of AI.

The center will achieve this by providing enterprises with the expertise, technology, training and robust governance that organizations need to align gen AI implementations with their business goals, prioritize business use cases that AI can solve, launch in-production pilots / minimum viable product (MVPs), and navigate the change management process.

This includes an AI sandbox built on Google Cloud’s unified AI stack consisting of high-performance AI-optimized infrastructure, its Vertex AI platform, foundation models, and low-code developer tools; combined with BCG’s strategic and industry expertise, insights and implementation capabilities.

With access to BCG’s digital practitioners, architects, data scientists, and engineers, as well as Google Cloud’s dedicated product and engineering talent, customers gain the support they need to move swiftly and successfully from AI experimentation to AI transformation, and realize business value from AI.

It is noted that from productivity boosts to revenue growth, AI is delivering real value.

Now, more than ever, executives are being challenged to build winning AI strategies that enable their organizations to capitalize on the current and future potential of gen AI.

However, a shortage of skilled talent and a struggle to keep pace with the rapid pace with AI developments are some of the very real barriers holding businesses back from adopting and from realizing the maximum potential of AI.

Enterprises also often have to grapple with a variety of other factors, such as technical and organizational complexity, data readiness, and lock-in and legacy technology.

“Google is deeply invested in Indonesia’s digital future, and we believe that AI is a critical enabler of innovation and economic growth,

“This AI Innovation Center, in collaboration with BCG, underscores our commitment to providing Indonesian businesses with the resources they need to succeed in the age of AI,” said Fanly Tanto, Google Cloud’s Country Director for Indonesia.

“We know that successful value delivery requires more than just algorithms and technology, highlighting the critical factor of people and process changes,

“By combining Google Cloud’s cutting-edge AI platform with BCG’s unparalleled industry expertise, we are confident that we can help Indonesian enterprises translate critical business priorities into effective strategy, design, and implementation programs that create competitive advantage,” she added.

Davids Tjhin, Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG, said that at BCG, the firm partnered with organizations to adapt their operating models and drive meaningful business impact.

To enable a true, he said organization-wide AI transformation, technology, data, and operating models must work together seamlessly.

“Through our collaboration with Google Cloud on the AI Innovation Center for Indonesia, we aim to partner with organizations at various stages of AI maturity, supporting them towards tangible results,

“Together, we will accelerate innovation, build sustainable competitive advantages, and ultimately empower organizations to thrive,” he added.
