BeeX, the Singapore-based artificial intelligence (AI)-powered autonomous underwater vehicles, has launched its S$10 million ($7.76 million) Series A Round to fuel its global expansion.

The firm said in a statement on Wednesday that driven by soaring demand for its autonomous vehicles, the firm is launching its Series A funding round to support global scaling and accelerated development of enhanced vehicle capabilities.

With demand running high, it noted that more than half the round has been soft-committed before launch.

The timing of the funding also coincides with global attention on nearshore and offshore infrastructure, as well as underwater assets, driving exponential growth in subsea inspection requirements across multiple sectors.

The global shift towards unmanned underwater operations reflects converging regulatory pressures, economic imperatives, and geopolitical tensions reshaping the
industry.

Conventional subsea inspections, like professional divers and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), require large support vessels, highly specialized operators, or complex safety protocols, which greatly contributes to the high operational costs industries incur in conducting subsea inspection.

BeeX said the firm’s revolutionary hovering autonomous underwater vehicles (HAUVs) minimize human risk while delivering superior, objective inspection data at a fraction of conventional methods.

Being able to operate autonomously and with less human labor, it enables companies to improve inspection coverage and intensity, and dramatically reduce operational expenses for subsea structural inspections and monitoring.

It is noted that BeeX has revolutionized subsea inspection and monitoring, rapidly expanding applications across renewables, defense, and offshore oil and gas sectors around the world, which demand more complex missions and capabilities.

The firm is also advancing its HAUV technology across Asia Pacific and European Union, showcasing the full potential of its autonomous underwater solutions on a global scale.

Post-seed round raised in October 2023, BeeX has built its next-generation HAUV, delivering a step-change in underwater power and performance.

Even before its official release, its HAUV, BETTA, has been completely booked through the end of 2025, with numerous companies eagerly anticipating real-world deployment and applications of the vehicle.
