Vietnam’s information technology (IT) corporation FPT has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AIA Vietnam Life Insurance Company (AIA Vietnam), AIA Group’s subsidiary, to drive digital transformation in the insurance and healthcare sectors.

FPT said in a statement on last Friday that by leveraging AIA Vietnam’s deep insurance expertise with FPT’s technology ecosystem, this partnership aims to deliver smart, efficient, and scalable insurance and healthcare solutions, driving customer engagement and accelerating growth in Vietnam.

FPT and AIA Vietnam will co-develop integrated life and health insurance products, leveraging FPT’s technology capabilities and AIA Vitality.

With increasing demand for healthcare, protection, and comprehensive financial solutions in Vietnam, AIA Vietnam and FPT see strong alignment in their customer-centric philosophies.

This shared foundation allows both companies to collaborate on building a comprehensive insurance-technology-healthcare ecosystem, focused on delivering personalized and convenient protection solutions for the Vietnamese people.

“We are witnessing a growing demand for advanced technologies in insurance, particularly artificial intelligence (AI),

“Building on our domain expertise and proven experience in this sector, we have developed a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for insurance clients, not only in Vietnam but globally,” said Pham Minh Tuan, FPT Software Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President, FPT Corporation.

“As an AI-first company, we will continue to bring our AI expertise and AI-augmented workforce, especially through our AI platform FleziPT, to help insurers optimize operations, boost productivity, enhance customer experiences, ultimately to set new industry benchmarks and improve the quality of life for everyone,” he added.

Meanwhile, Zhang Fisher, Regional Chief Executive of AIA Group, emphasized the partnership between AIA Vietnam and FPT is a clear testament to AIA Group’s long-term commitment to closing the protection gap across Asia, while delivering greater value to communities in each market.

“In Vietnam, we believe that by leveraging AIA’s insurance expertise and health and wellness ecosystem with FPT’s comprehensive technology platforms and proven capabilities, we will create more personalized, holistic insurance and healthcare solutions,

“This partnership will contribute positively to the development of the insurance industry, as well as to the health and wellbeing of the people,” he added.

Andrew Loh, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Vietnam, said customers have always been at the heart of AIA Vietnam’s strategy.

“We constantly seek innovative solutions to deliver transparent, convenient, and holistic experiences for our customers,

“The signing of this MOU with FPT is a clear demonstration of that commitment – leveraging FPT’s extensive technology ecosystem with AIA’s insurance expertise,” he said.

According to him, this is the next step in expanding the firm’s digital transformation journey while further strengthening its health and wellness ecosystem, with AIA Vitality as the core foundation of AIA’s Health & Wellness Protection strategy.
